COVID Measures

After months of anticipation the governor of Hawaii has announced the official end to the mandatory 14 day quarantine. As of October 15 visitors who have tested Covid-negative may move around freely as long as they adhere to basic safety rules such as wearing masks in public. Find out more here.

Volcano Retreat was built to be... a retreat. We're set on 4 cares of private tropical forest and we're located on the most scarcely populated of Hawaiian islands. Coincidentally, that makes us the perfect place to enjoy your safe and responsible #BackToTravel Hawaiian vacation while adhering to the rules of social distancing.

Some of our COVID safety features at Volcano Retreat include:

• Contactless online booking, check in and payment
• Face masks will be used by hosts and made available for guests
• Hand sanitizing stations or dispensers placed strategically - both standard and nature's sanitizer known locally as "Hippie Soap" which happens to grow on our property
• Individual en suite bungalows located at least 20 feet away from each other ensure you don't need to come into direct contact with fellow guests
• Social distancing will be practiced in all areas of the retreat
• Additional cleaning processes for daily housekeeping service during your stay and after departure
• Most amenities such as the hot tub and guest lounge are outdoors - and as such deemed more advisable by the World Health Organization and Center for Disease Control and Prevention
• Nurturing plant-based wholesome breakfast designed to delight your taste buds AND boost your immunity
• Enjoy your full breakfast at your private porch, it'll be waiting for you at a requested time

Our highest priority is your health, safety and well-being. Ultimately, we will do everything we can to support you in whatever you feel is best for you. The Big Island is the largest and the least visited in all of Hawaii which makes it the dream destination to socially distance. We will advise on further safety measures while on the island, such as safest attractions and restaurants or most remote beaches, so you can make the most of your time in beautiful Hawaii in these ever-changing times.
